Book Fair
Book Fair Safari!
November 17-20, 2008
At the Book Fair, you can browse, learn about, and buy books for kids and adults of ages--cookbooks, parenting books, you name it!
Scholastic and local bookstore Laurel Books provide hundreds of titles for children and adults, along with posters, journals, writing implements, and a small selection of toys. In addition, books by our visiting authors and by our own Mike Riera and Joe DiPrisco are available
The Book Fair generates excitement about books, literacy, and reading. It offers opportunities for parents to purchase books for the school library and classrooms, and it raises funds for the Parents’ Association. Through Scholastic’s One for Books program, our school community provides books to Fruitvale Elementary School’s library and to programs for children in need.
Book Fair Safari Opens November 17th
Monday, Nov 17th: 8am-6pm
Tuesday, Nov 18th: 8am-7pm
Wednesday, Nov 19th 8am-6pm
Thursday, Nov 20th 8am-Noon
Books will be on display in the Gallery and in the Library. Each class visits the book fair in the first few days so students can compile a “wish list,” which they can give to their parents so they can shop for their children.
Students can shop before school, during recess, and during lunch. After school, students can shop at the book fair if a parent accompanies them. Find out more:
