Welcome to Middle School
Welcome to the Middle School! In the core academic subjects areas of English, math, science, and history, students learn to think critically, write coherently, and solve problems in a variety of ways. In this liberal arts curriculum, students collaborate together and value the richness of good books, penetrating lab experiments, the complexity and elegance of math, learning another language, and of appreciating and practicing fine arts. Moreover, our students learn that curiosity, hard work, creativity, humor and deep inquiry are what constitute a good student.
Students have a rich opportunity to participate in a wide variety of opportunities: drama performances, a full slate of team sports, rock band, jazz band, and student government. Students also are able to enjoy an activities period each Friday afternoon where they choose electives like yearbook, environmental club, science club, podcasting, and drawing.
Multicultural perspectives are valued beyond the content offered in history classes. Through literature, science, art, music, math, Spanish, our advisory program, and our assemblies, students are asked to respect and learn about the richness, beauty, and struggles of so many cultures on this earth.
Our teachers believe in differentiating instruction, and participate annually in workshops and classes to help deepen their repertoire of teaching methodologies. Students learn in a variety of ways so it simply makes sense that our teachers would want to teach in a variety of ways.
We look forward to sharing our experiences, passion for teaching, and love for middle school with you.
